Grouse Lakes

Proposed Wilderness Area

In the Northern Sierra there are few places that can match the Grouse area for the number of lakes and ponds, and perhaps none, which can match its density. Desolation Wilderness, which is three times the size of Grouse Lakes, would be the closest rival. This area is also notable for the incredible number of Native American sites, including petroglyphs.
