DownieRiverDownie River and Tributaries

Proposed Wild and Scenic River

The extensive trail system along this watershed is popular with hikers, backpackers, anglers, equestrians, and mountain bikers. Abundant petroglyphs and prehistoric sites are evidence of past Native American use. The volcanic soils of the area support outstanding wildflower displays, and the diverse forest and meadow ecosystem also provides potential habitat for several rare plants.
