RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA – Congresswoman Mary Bono (R-Palm Springs) publicly introduced the California Desert and Mountain Heritage Act (H.R. 6270). This visionary draft wilderness and wild rivers bill would designate approximately 125,000 acres throughout Riverside County.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Eastern Sierra Rural Heritage and Economic Enhancement Act (HR 5149/S 2567) took an important step toward becoming law today, as Bush administration officials, and both of California’s senators, delivered powerful testimony in support of this conservation measure at a hearing before the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests. Mary KayVolunteer Spotlight

Mary Kay lives in the Mammoth Lakes area and is both a retired Citrus Ranch owner and a retired mental health professional. Mary Kay is also a highly involved volunteer for the Campaign. Most recently, she traveled to Washington D.C. to speak to elected officials about the need to save California’s wild places.
