Keep outdoor footprint light
By Judi G. Milin
Letter to the Editor -Thank you for your recent article on saving wilderness for others ("Leaving no trace behind," Outdoors, June 9). With summer upon us, many people will be coming to Riverside County to enjoy our wonderful outdoor opportunities. From hiking and backpacking to horseback riding and camping, visiting our wild public lands is a great way to spend free time without spending much money. To guarantee the outdoor experience for future generations, we need to protect our public lands and wild areas and be careful to not disturb our fellow outdoor enthusiasts, plants and wildlife.
From the rustling breezes through oak forests on Cahuilla Mountain to the vast desert wonderland of Joshua Tree, there is something for everyone in Riverside County.
Pack a tent. Visit wild places. And do your part to keep California's natural heritage wild for others to enjoy.
