Kokatat

KokatatKokatat literally means “into the water” in the language of the Native American people living along the Klamath River, close to the company’s headquarters. And as the industry’s most extensive line of watersports wear, Kokatat has been helping people get “into the water” for years.

The Campaign caught up with Lisa Beckstead, a member of Kokatat’s Public Relations and Field Market team, and discussed the reasons behind Kokatat’s long-term, loyal support of the California Wild Heritage Campaign and so many other environmental causes.

Q&A KOKATAT

Q. Why did you join CWHC.

A. We understand the value of having access to the wilderness and having places to go where we can recreate. This partnership especially made sense as it was in our own back yard. Supporting causes like this is the right thing to do

Q. What is the focus of your business.

A. Making the best quality watersports clothing, but also supporting groups that are dedicated to making sure there are places for us and our consumers to recreate and use our products.

Q. How does your focus relate to nature/the environment.

A. We sell to people who like to play in the outdoors so it is our best interest as a business and as humans to make sure there are places to do the sports we love to do.

Q. What drew you to the Campaign.

A. For one it’s in our backyard. We support the CWHC goals, so it makes sense to get involved with a regional campaign where we live.

Q. Where can our activists find you.

A. www.kokatat.com
